After years of awesome gigs, festivals, recording, singing, laughing and crying, Lime and Steel is announcing our final gigs as a band.
Our final show will be on November 4, at the sweet old church that is now Junction 142 on Katoomba St, with our good friends Julien Joel Clement and Neil Duncan opening for us. We also play a fun show as a hillbilly house band for a circus cabaret show at the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre on Sat Oct 21.
Lime and Steel has released four discs, toured interstate, gig with international artists and played festivals from Far North Qld to the south of Tasmania. We’ve done more than we really ever hoped to do! All things come to an end, and we’re bringing it to close now, with a whole lot of love and respect. All of us have different projects and its time to give them the space to grow:
Make sure you check out Skye’s soul-jazz trio Soular Spill, Paddy’s Irish-trad/convict-folk project Witches Leap and Maizy’s stellar folk-chick powerhouse Snail. There are also murmurings of solo projects in the future… we’ll keep you posted!
Over the years we’ve had some great musicians in this band, and we want to send some love out to the hard work and talents of Ben Scott, Ian Morrison and Cletis Carr, who brought so much fun and creativity to the band.
We also want to send some special regards to the many hard working festivals, bookers and venues who’ve supported us over the years, including: Blue Mts Music Festival, Illawarra Folk Festival, Fusion Boutique, Nomadic Fish, The National Folk Festival, The Paragon, Turning Wave Festival, Black Mountain Unplugged and our old stomping ground the Old City Bank Bar.
And to all you fantastic people who’ve come to shows, bought CD’s, invited their friends, worn our T-shirts, helped us carry our stuff… you guys are the best: Thank you!
