We’ve launched a crowd-funding project for the next EP!
It features the tale of Aunt Thally Grills, a sweet little old lady from Leura who poisoned her neighbours and in-laws with delicious home-baked treats in the 1950’s.
You can check out our adventure-packed video, featuring high-speed DIY craft tips, footage of a gig at Katoomba’s iconic Clarendon Hotel, and a handsome singing dog, all here at this link….
Poor Maizy showed up to our last recording session with one finger suffering the effects of a nasty bite from a car door… Luckily, it was just to lead us through her vocal tracks.
With a click of your finger, you’ll soon have the chance to make an EP with Lime and Steel! We’ll be launching a crowd-funding campaign raise funds for recording: watch this space to hear about awesome home-made merch and goodies… glued, ironed, stitched and be-spoke-wine stained around the stained kitchen tables of Lime and Steel.
This Saturday we play a totally unplugged acoustic set at Humph Hall in Allambie Heights. Our favourite way to play! We’ll have some dirty roots-down fiddle grooves, songs about grannies who poison their neighbours and just maybe a singalong river shanty or two…7pm
We’re heading into the studio to lay down a new release: With Skye or Maizy singing lead in every song. Stand by for awesome folkgrass-girl-power! Meanwhile, some great gigs…
Sat 27th Feb, Humph Hall, Allambie Heights, 7pm
Sun 28th Feb, The Rhythm Hut, Gosford, 5pm
Closer to home Blue Mts folks can catch us at the Old City Bank next Sat, 20th Feb. This pic is our stylin’ Skye Mostafa, at Bluestown, Woodford.
Had a ball at the Old City Bank last night! Whole lot of love to our new mates from Dublin and from Orange… and a big thanks to Matt Dennett for tearing it up on the squeezebox!
Our next Katoomba gig is for the early birds: Skye Paddy and Maizy-Jane will do a breakfast gig at the Hotel Blue next Sunday, Jan 24 8am to 10am as a string band trio.
We play from 9pm tonight at The Old City Bank. At 10pm we’ll be joined for one set only by Matt Dennett on the Squeezebox!
Woodford was a blast! Feels like we’ve spent a week in a beautiful foreign country.
Big love to all those awesome organisers and volunteers that make it happen: You make something truly unique!
Here’s us playing an extra pop-up gig in the side of a gypsy-blues caravan. So much fun!
This awesome local short film will be on the flickerfest program this January: Pipes and whistle music from our very own Paddy Connor. Production by the awesome Sean O’Keefe and Lithgow High School
Meanwhile: We’re on the road to Woodford!
This is what its like without the kids in the frame: We prefer the chaos…Happy Christmas!
See you on the road: Woodford, The Bearded Lady, Bellingen Federal Hotel
Had a local gig on while this dead set legend played the RSL on Saturday.
Couldn’t go see the man, but we still had an awesome time …and can’t help quoting the best compliment we have EVER received from one punter (OK, friend!) who came to see our final set, post-RSL: “You guys were rocking’ harder than Tex himself”.
That’s not actually possible, but we’ll take the compliment: Thanks Caroline!
One more jam tonight and then we head to Woodford, Brisbane, Bellingen Woohoo!
